Galileo's influence on technology
Galileo had an astonishing impact on technologies like the innovation on the telescope. This invention which he developed helped to magnify objects by twenty times greater than a regular telescope at that time. He also discovered Saturn through his telescope but mistook the rings for other planets and in 1612 he observed Neptune, however he thought it was a star and not a planet. Galileo discovered three of Jupiter’s moons. Later, the four moons were named in his honor and are now known as the Galilean moons. He discovered Venus with this new telescope. Galileo observed that the planet exhibited a full set of phases similar to our Moon.
Galileo's influence on government
He also impacted the government greatly. He disproved the Catholic Church's theory of a geocentrism in our universe. Also, he made the Catholic Church lose power by making people either to choose their theory (geocentric) or Copernicus’ (heliocentric).
